Year 3 get messy with printing!

Pascal from Solent University came in to teach us all about printing. We discussed how fabrics are printed and where designers get their inspiration from. Keep an eye on the blog to see our fabric made into clothes for our end of term fashion show!

Year 3 Instructions!

Year 3 have been learning about instructions in English. We started by verbally giving instructions to move around our treasure map.

Year 3 were all very proud to perform to family at the In2music Spring concert!

Year 3 have got the running bug!

Year 3 just keep on running! Not only did they complete the Sport Relief mile but the Eastleigh 2K .

Sweet fractions!

All of year 3 were very excited that their maths lesson involved sweets! Fractions never tasted so good!  

Year 3 test each other on co-ordinates!

Year 3 have been learning all about co-ordinates in maths. We tested each other with battle ship games we had designed.

Greek Day!

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic day as Ancient Greeks. They learnt how to write using the Greek alphabet, sampled some typical foods and staged their own performances of well-known myths. During the afternoon they took part in a mini Olympic games with sports including chariot racing and the torch relay!

Visiting The Mayor of Southampton

Our School Councillors were visiting the Mayor today! 

With all the building currently taking place at the civic centre, we weren't sure if we would be able to go but fortunately when the Mayor, the Terry Mathews, visited us last month, he invited us along! He gave us a very interesting tour of the Mayor's parlour, along with Alan, one of the Town Sergeants. We were also able to see inside the Council chambers themselves. A big thanks to the Mayor for giving up his time!

Year R have been learning all about different vehicles as part of their topic on Transport. They enjoyed using construction kits to build model cars, aeroplanes, trains, lorries, boats...

Year R had a visit from Sam's daddy with a Post Office van, as part of our Transport topic. They enjoyed learning more about the postal service and they particularly enjoyed sitting in the driver's seat! Many thanks to Mr White.
