New Team Captains
Our first team assembly has taken place and the children have elected their team captains for the coming year. The team captains will represent their teams and can be recognised by the special captain badges they wear - red for Victory, blue for Challengers, yellow for Stars and green for Freedom. Look up - as the winning house each week has their flag flying above the school for the week!

Year 3 become explorers

Year 3 have had an exciting to start to this term's topic work - we received an email from Indiana Jones asking for our help in following clues to find some treasure! We will all be learning how to send emails this term, including ones to Miss Naughton and her new class, far away in Milan, Italy.
What places have you visited during the summer holidays?
Year 2 at Southampton Boat Show
Year 2 had a great time at the boat show and particularly enjoyed the RNLI experience! Ask them to tell you all about dressing up.

Year 5 are studying rock n' roll this half term! We will be working towards a performance which will include singing, dancing and a presentation of our artwork. We are looking forward to showing the rest of Bitterne Manor and parents our talents!
Welcome to the new Year R and their families!
I would like to say a really big welcome to those children that have just, or are about to, join Year R. It had been great to meet many of you at your pre-school or in your own home.
Those children that have already begun school for the first time have settled in well and are enthusiastic about learning. They have met other teachers and pupils and are begining to learn their way around the school.
Those children who will be joining us next week, we can't wait to see you looking smart in your new uniform! We have lots of fun activties planned for you!
Parents and families, I would just like to remind you that there is the opportunity for you to join the class every Wednesday morning and take part in the activities.
We look forward to seeing you!

Welcome back Class 1!
Class 1 have been working very hard this week to settle into their new routines. We have enjoyed continuing the topic of Sun, Sand and Sea by selling towels and taking ice cream orders in the sea side shop!
We have also been looking at the life of a Sea Horse and have remembered key facts by drawing pictures and adding our own notes. The children have also been very busy by counting lots of sea side objects.
We have begun to paint pictures of the sea side to add to our role play area and will soon be writing postcards to sell in the shop!
Great work Year 1, keep it up! :)

Roman All Over The Place!

Year 4 have made a great start to the term and have already been finding out lots about their new topic - The Romans. They have created a wall of questions which they are working hard to try and find the answers to. They are also creating a Roman kitchen, complete with mosaic floor and paintings of clay pots.
Introduction to Games Aut 2010
