The children all dared to complete all the challenges and activities at Fairthorne activity centre last week. From speeding along the heights of the zip wire, climbing and abseiling to working together in teams to complete a muddy yet exciting obstacle challenge. The children WOW'd us with their talents such as dancing at the disco and amazing card tricks. The adults were proud of excellent behaviour and impeccable manners.

Groovy Greek Day!
Year 6 ended their topic of Ancient Greece with a themed day. Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes and enjoyed taking part in their dance based on 'Theseus and the Minotaur' and theatre performances of Greek myths. The Olympic Games were held in the afternoon and winners were crowned in many events, including the relay, javelin and chariot racing! After the Games a feast was held with foods similar to those eaten in Ancient Greece for everyone to try. What a great day!

Year 4 Nature trail
Over the past two weeks year 4 have been working really hard to create their own nature trails around the field for year 1 to complete. They designed every part of the nature trails themselves, including creating their own sign posts on the laptops, selecting the stops around the field and marking them on maps of the field. They created their own questions, designed activities and created information points for year 1 to enjoy. http://
Although it was a very wet day, year 1 had a lot of fun completing the nature trails and year 4 really enjoyed making them. Thank you so much year 1 for helping us!

Y1 visit Y3s FUN FACTORY!
Following Year 3s market research visit to Toys R Us recently, the children then made their own games using either magnets or springs to make parts move.
Year 1 have now visited our 'Fun Factory'. We began by showing some of our power points created to advertise our games. Then Year 1 got to work - having fun and testing the games. Much laughter and cheers and our visitors left covered in stickers having won so many games. Well done Year 3 for all your hard work!

Thank you from Year 5
Year 5 would like to say a huge thank you to all of parents and staff that made Frenchie's French Café (Bitterne Bistro) a huge success! We wouldn't have been able to do it without you all! Year 5 had a great time preparing the Bistro, and enjoyed acting as French waiters and waitresses even more!

Year 1 Manor Farm!
Year 1 had a great time at Manor Farm! We spent the day working on the farm and had the chance to milk a cow as well as see and learn lots about the other animals. We also went into the Victorian house and did some washing using a Victorian mangle! Afterwards we went into the Victorian school room and had to behave very sensibly otherwise Miss Stubbs got a bit cross! We then couldn't wait to play in the park and lots of us were a bit muddy! A great day had by all, well done Year 1 for brillant behaviour! Year 1 parents are invited into our assembly to find out more on Thursday 7th April at 2.45pm. We hope to see you there.

Spring Collage
As part of our 'Spring' topic Year R have worked together to produce some 'Spring' pictures. The class discussed what made them think of Spring and came up with ideas such as chicks, Easter eggs, lambs, flowers and Christian crosses. They then used various materials to show these ideas in their pictures.

Zoom!
Year R have been busy in the last few weeks producing their very own methods of transport. They designed these, planned the materials and resources they wanted to use and then made their vehicles. Some were very creative, deciding they wanted to make a 'flying flower' and a 'rainbow flying car'.
They children look toward to their parents coming to see their work next Thursday.
