A Special Visitor came to visit...

…the Robins class today! We had a really lovely afternoon being visited by a special nurse who works for the NHS (a fabulous parent of one of the Robins) We have been learning all about 'people who help us' as part of our PSHE topic so Miss Sangha invited in a special nurse who talked about their job. She was fantastic!

We were really in awe of listening to what she does day to day, we learnt how to find a pulse, enjoyed guessing the special equipment that she bought along with her, had a go at using plastic syringes and the effect this had with water, we learnt how to wash our hands 'the nurse' way and had fun at bandaging up one of the Robins! This made us giggle lots 😀

Here's some pictures of our special visit...

Thank you so much for visiting us - you are a star ⭐

Amazing Kestrels...

Every single child in Kestrels has been amazing this week! They have been resilient, demonstrated a positive mindset and shown they are learning to be the best they can!
This afternoon they produced some lovely artwork, reflecting on all the other things that they are good at, or that are good about them as individuals, which were not tested this week. And as a little well done, we all enjoyed a doughnut and celebratory cup of lemonade.
Well done Kestrels, you have done yourselves proud.

Kingfishers Explore Swanwick Lake!

Kingfishers had the most amazing time visiting and exploring Swanwick Lake!

The children got to have a chance at pond dipping and see what insects live in the pond.

Some of the children found some flat worms, damselfly nymph and some children even found  tadpoles!

After having a busy time pond dipping we then went on a minibeast hunt up in the woodlands area.

We found some wiggly worms, stag beetles, woodlouse and spiders!

After lunch off we went up to the meadow to use our senses with some activities. We use our ears to listen to see what we could hear in the meadow. After we were given the challenge to see if we could find different things using our sense touch. Lastly we got to make some potions and see how they smelt!
