Harvest Festival

Thank you so much for all the kind donations to our Harvest collection.  We were able to provide City Mission with an abundance of food and toiletries, to support families in the city who need it.  The children thoroughly enjoyed their assembly this morning with Charis from City Mission.

Harvest Collection

Thank you once again for your generous donations to our Harvest Festival this year.  As you can see from the image below, we have collected an enormous amount for the Food Bank.  In addition to the table full of groceries, each of the 7 green crates is full of cans and jars!

Harvest Festival Collection

A huge thank you for all the goodies that have been donated for our Harvest Festival this year.  City Mission are always overwhelmed by the generosity of our school community and this year will be no exception!  As you can see we have managed to collect a huge range of groceries and even some toiletries, all of which will support vulnerable families in our city.

A huge thank you!

Thank you so much for the huge contribution of food and toiletries for our Harvest Festival today.  I think we have been able to donate even more this year than last year, to City Mission.  They will be collecting all the stock tomorrow morning, which will then be distributed to families across the city who need it.  For such a small school, our contribution is one of the largest they receive and that is all thanks to the generosity of our school community. So thank you again!

A massive thank you!

City Mission came in to school this morning to lead our Harvest Assembly and collect  the food that has been so kindly donated by our school community.  They were overwhelmed by the amount that had been collected - over 800 items!  These will be shared people in our local area that are struggling currently.  Last year City Mission were able to support over 10,000 families and our donations will go towards feeding a huge number again this year -  so once again a massive thank you for your generosity!

Who could that crow be?!

Harvest Festival!

Our Harvest Festival is this coming Thursday 18th October! We are very much looking forward to welcoming the team from Southampton City Mission to lead our assembly and to distribute our donations to Basics Bank.

Southampton City Mission: "All of the food that we are able to give out to those in need, comes to us as donations from the public. We are completely dependent upon this year round generous support from churches, schools, businesses and members of the public in order to help those who need emergency food in Southampton and the surrounding area."

Please could children bring in tins, packets and jars this week up to and including Thursday. We will see which class brings in the most!

Thank you very much for your donations!

A great first half-term for Year R!

We have been very busy in Year R with each day filled with lots of activities! We recently enjoyed our trip to the bear factory where each class made a bear who will soon be visiting each home! We also enjoyed our picnic, thank you to all those who were able to make it and we hope you enjoyed your sandwiches!

We also enjoyed attending our first assembly to celebrate our Harvest Festival, thank you very much for the donations! This half-term we will be joining singing assembly each Thursday with Year 1 and 2.

We look forward to our next topic, Jack Frost, and learning all about Autumn and Winter!

Thank You for the Harvest!

Our Harvest celebration was fantastic today! Thanks to everyone for your 949 contributions to those in greater need than ourselves. City Mission led our assembly this morning with a message of 'reaping what you sow' to the children which we would like to pass on to you all. We would also like to thank them for the work they do in supporting those in need in our community.

Harvesting Year 3 crops

With the weather changing, Year 3 have now cleared their patio garden and will shortly be planting spring bulbs. We had a great harvest of runner beans this year and everyone took home a bean to plant either this year or next. With baited breath we inspected the pumpkin plant ... and were delighted to pick one pumpkin! Growth was severly hampered by the cold spell in September, so the remaining baby pumpkins didn't develop. But one is better than none!
