Bitterne Manor dazzle at Humble Plumb!

Yesterday was a very special day for some of the pupils at Bitterne Manor Primary School!  They had been invited by the manager of the Humble Plumb Pub to sing a selection of Christmas songs.  The staff have saved all year to provide a group of elderly, lonely and vulnerable adults with a Christmas dinner, gifts and a nice social afternoon spent with others -  something they may not be as fortunate to get as others around the Christmas period. They had gifts donated by Bursledon House NHS and the company Easy Networks called offering a large monetary donation to buy more gifts!

Our children did us proud and sang their hearts out!  Well done to them all :)  A special thank you to Samantha Daniel who organised this event and allowed our school to be part of something special!

SAM visits Bitterne Manor!

Something special happened today...SAM visited our school! He made a guest appearance at our gate congratulating children as they made their way in.  Definitely a more exciting face to see hey? Take a sneaky peek below at some of the children that he spotted and rewarded just for coming to school and on time!  You're definitely in his good books and Mr Adams of course. He was delighted that you all couldn't wait to get into school and start learning :)

Love Your Bike & Scooter Day...

We all know that children enjoy cycling and scooting so lets allow them to show their bikes and scooters how much they are loved by decorating them with their favourite items and pictures! We also want everyone to love their heart by being healthy and cycling and scooting in to school on the 10th February. When children get to school we will have a parade around the playground to show off the beautiful bikes and scooters. If they feel creative, write a short poem about how much they love cycling and scooting. There will be prizes for the best poems. Hand the poems in to class teachers.

It's Rehearsal Time!

We were very busy on Friday morning rehearsing and rehearsing in preparation for our whole school Christmas show. This year the show is called 'Baubles' and is based on the tale of the Elves and the shoemaker. We've replaced the shoemaker with a certain site manager and the Elves getting up to mischief are Kestrels class. Everyone gets a to do a little something and we look forward to seeing you at one of our performances. We will be filming it this year once again.

Tent Day!

Today was 'Tent Day' in Kestrels class! Conditions were ideal to test out the children's plans for constructing a waterproof shelter - the rain made things a little 'tense' :) Some fantastic constructions were built by the teams and they learnt a lot about planning, preparation and working together. Great fun, too!

Solar Eclipse 2015

We really tried today to experience the eclipse but disappointingly the clouds were against us. There was a definite darkening in the skies and a big drop in the temperature - but no sun! Most of us will have to catch up with events on the television later...

Shelfies for World Book Day!

We have asked the staff to send us pictures of their book shelves for World Book Day. Here are a few of them. We thought it would be a good idea to see if the children could spot which teacher was which shelf...? It's really hard! What do you think?
