Mayor of Southampton Visits Bitterne Manor Primary

We were very pleased to welcome the Mayor of Southampton to Bitterne Manor Primary School yesterday. He kindly agreed to be interviewed by pupils in our assembly following a tour of the school. Cllr Alex Houghton is the 799th Mayor of Southampton and, as the children found out, an ex pupil at Bitterne Manor Primary School himself. We even found a picture of him (below - seated in the front and right) from the 1990's.

Your City, Your Say....

The message below has been sent to residents who have signed up to Southampton City's Portal but for those that haven't you might be interested in responding to this survey. Link below!

We would like to know what you think about a draft budget for 2020/21 and onwards to 2022/23.

This year we are taking a slightly different approach to the budget. We are continuing to find and deliver efficiencies but we want to grow our way out of the budget gap. By this we mean making bold investments in the areas which are important to the city, and by investing money in things which can generate income to the council and therefore support services. We feel this is the best way to create a city of opportunity where everyone thrives.

This is your opportunity to have your say. For example, we want to hear how it may affect you and if you have any suggestions for us. We will consider all the feedback received before any final decisions are made.

To read about the proposals and give us your views, please complete the following questionnaire.

Please complete this questionnaire by 7 January 2020.

Imagine the Future...

Bitterne Manor was represented today at a special event organised by Southampton City Council to gather young peoples views about their own future and that of the city. 'Imagine the Future' was also supported by Red Funnel who organised a special sailing of 'Red Osprey' to host the event. We enjoyed sharing our opinions and working with other groups of children from across the city. The weather was also perfect for some great views of the Solent.
