Parental Wellbeing Workshop

Tuesday 23rd January, 9am-10.30am at Bitterne Manor Primary School

Parental wellbeing should be prioritised and so we wanted to have discussions about parental wellbeing, how parental wellbeing affects children, and how you can make small steps to begin to improve your wellbeing. In this hour-long workshop, you can expect to share experiences with other parents, and learn simple strategies that you can slot into your everyday life to ensure that your wellbeing is prioritised as much as those that you care for. By practicing these strategies, we hope that you can make a good start towards maintaining positive wellbeing for the future. We will also discuss other strategies and avenues of support such as books, podcasts, apps, and local adult mental health support. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided!

If you would like to attend this workshop please contact the school office or email Mrs Abbott at senco@bitternemanor.net.

 Feedback from parents:

“Friendly facilitator and helpful, realistic tips”.

“The size of the group allowed me to speak up and participate”.

Improving school attendance and pupil support

The Department for Education have sent out an email to schools today around the national drive to improve school attendance.  This highlights the importance of good attendance but also provides some resources that parents can access if their child is struggling with anxiety, which is impacting their attendance in school.  Many of the apps / websites are aimed at older pupils but may be helpful for parents to access to gain more informaton.
