National Sports week - a great success!

Lots of amazing activities took place last week. Teachers and TAs promoting sports through other subjects.
Here are more photos of children's creative work during the week.

Imagine the Future...

Bitterne Manor was represented today at a special event organised by Southampton City Council to gather young peoples views about their own future and that of the city. 'Imagine the Future' was also supported by Red Funnel who organised a special sailing of 'Red Osprey' to host the event. We enjoyed sharing our opinions and working with other groups of children from across the city. The weather was also perfect for some great views of the Solent.

Year 6 trip to Itchen Valley

What a lovely day it's been!  Having been worried this morning that it would be wet, the weather was perfect!
The children had a lovely time completing a scavenger hunt, walking the trails, building dens (thank you for organising that boys) and playing in the park.

Thank you very much for a lovely day and a massive thank you to mrs Peterson for the ice poles and applying the many plasters!
Thank you year 6!! :-)

It's Inflatable Football!

Today each class got to enjoy a rather different game of football - inside an inflatable pitch! Here are Reception class having great fun as part of National Sports week. Thanks to Solent Sports Partnership for providing the pitch.

Sandwich Making!

Year 3 made their healthy sandwiches this morning. We had designed our sandwiches beforehand, and wrote instructions about how we thought we would make them. We then had to follow our instructions to see if they were easy to follow!

We then ate out sandwiches and evaluated how they tasted!!  Some of the comments we overheard:
"I didn't like tomatoes, but they taste great in my sandwich!"
"I wasn't so keen on the cucumber"
"All the ingredients keep falling out, next time I would use something to help stick them together"
"My sandwich was scrumptious!"
Maybe ask them to make then again at home?!
