Strolling for Stories

 Good morning, 

During lockdown, the children at Bitterne Manor Primary School have demonstrated maturity, resilience and optimism in the most incredible way. They have coped exceptionally well with changing circumstances and adopting to a new way of learning.

As staff, we couldn't be prouder of the fantastic efforts put in by our children. We would like to say well done and a massive thank you to the children at Bitterne Manor Primary School by gifting each child a brand new book. 

We are going to be dusting off our walking shoes and collectively walking the distance of the Great Wall of China (2145 miles) in the hope of raising enough books for each and every one of our incredible children.

Kestrels are flying high with their online learning!

 Kestrels are continuing to work extremely hard in all the subjects we are setting them.  Much (although not all) of it is on screen and it is not all easy to share; however here is just a glimpse of some of the amazing work we have had in this week.  Well done to all of you, we are very proud of you as a year group!

Kestrels' Love of Books

 Today in English, Kestrels were a given a choice of activities to do based on a book they are currently reading.  Here is just a snapshot of some of the work we had sent in to us: 

Dazzling Ducklings continue to shine!

Once again we have been so pleased to see our Ducklings doing such a super job with their home learning activities! These activities include cutting skills, making playdough, exploring the outside world, writing, cooking, playing with shapes, listening to stories, playing listening games and even making their own turtle costume!! Clever Kingfishers

 Kingfisher class have been working hard at home and in school. They have enjoyed their Rainbow challenges this week, and they have made wind socks, reading dens, and Henna designs. They have also been learning about symmetry in Maths.

Here is a very cosy reading den.

I love this wind sock made by one of our creative Kingfishers.

You can also see all his hard work in this collage of home learning. Can you see the Henna design in the middle and the symmetrical crown at the top?

This clever Kingfisher made a symmetrical crown that she could wear. 

Here is our Rainbow that shows that this Kingfisher completed all his Rainbow challenges this week.

Here are some of our Kingfishers in school who have also completed their Rainbow challenges, phonics and Maths work.

They enjoyed reading in their reading den this afternoon.
