SEAL Day

Today we have been learning about getting on and falling out. First Miss Cole made us greet each other. We found out that there are lots of different ways of doing this; like saying hello in any language, using hand gestures or facial expressions.  Next we disccussed what the KEY to being a good friend is. We wrote our ideas onto keys and decorated them. We looked at a clip from Toy Story where Woody felt left out and thought about how he and the other toys could have been better friends. In the afternoon we wrote each other a compliment and made friendship bracelets.

Well done to Kingfishers for completing their first half-term at Bitterne Manor

Kingfishers have been fantastic this half-term and we are very proud of every single one of them for getting stuck straight into school life at Bitterne Manor and for learning to be the best that they can!

We have had such fun making new friends as well as learning lots! We enjoyed our Bear topic very much, including creating our own bear hunt and making our own sandwiches for our picnic with our families! Thank you to all who came, we hope you enjoyed our bear rap!

Please have a look at our pictures!

We can't wait to start Autumn 2 and learn all about the seasons through our next topic, Jack Frost!

A huge thank you for your Harvest donations!

We were very pleased with our impressive Harvest collection thanks to the generosity of our Bitterne Manor community! We were hoping to beat last years total of 500 items and we were so pleased to not only beat it by a few but by an extra 476 items!! This makes our total this year 976!! Thank you once again! :)

We very much enjoyed our Harvest Assembly! Mr Gould and then Mrs Davis had to became human levers and make different silly noises in order to make the children spin and reveal important harvest messages! We had fun!

Finches - 115
Swifts - 204

Well done to Swifts for winning!

Shelter Building Success!!

Kestrel's have enjoyed a fantastic afternoon out on the school field building their own shelters.  You may recall our earlier blog where we posted pictures of our prototypes, well today we put our designs to the test and built our shelters full size.  The children demonstrated lots of positive attributes:  excellent teamwork, good organisation, problem solving and there was also plenty of RESILIENCE on show!!  I think you'll agree that they all did brilliantly.  Every group managed, by the end of the afternoon, to have built a shelter which would keep all the members of the group covered and dry.  Great job Kestrel's!!!
