Pond Renovation

Our pond area has received a much needed renovation and repair - thanks to these volunteers from Southampton University who gave up their time in extremely hot weather to support us. We found several frogs and newts in the process who will hopefully appreciate the tidy up.

Summer Fayre 2013

We would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Summer Fayre such a big success.  Thanks to everyone who donated items, everyone who gave their time preparing, setting up, running stalls and clearing away afterwards and thanks to everyone who came along to the Fayre and spent so generously.
Together we raised a fantastic £1,400!

And thanks to the teaching staff for agreeing to this ...

Evacuation cum VE Day celebrations

To round off our History topic 'We'll Meet Again', Year 4 were evacuated to different locations during the morning. Each group experienced a different reception at their host 'school', which we were able to share in the afternoon. All groups did some baking plus planned a menu for the day using rationed items 'bought' from a local shop using ration cards.

VE Day was celebrated in the afternoon. At the end of the afternoon, many parents and family came to our 'street party' to celebrate with us. Work was displayed, along with homework projects. The class also showed their WWII documentary films, made using 'movie maker' during our ICT lessons. The class dressed in role and looked superb. What a great way to finish our topic!

School Council Surgery

On Tuesday, 25th June, the School Council held an open-air surgery so that the rest of the school could come and talk to them and share their ideas about the school, and how to make even better.

Thank you to all of you who put an idea in the suggestion box, there were some fabulous ideas! The new  School Council next year will be able to have a look at them and decide if they can make any of the ideas come true!

We'd like to say a big THANK YOU! to everyone for supporting our summer disco on Friday.
Crazy M had everyone dancing, made funky balloon hats and showered us in snow!

With your help we raised almost £250

Y4 visit to Milestones Museum

Year 4 went back in time as they wandered the streets of war time Britain to learn more about Home Front Life from 1939 to 1945 at Milestones Museum. Character actors and an audioguide brought to life this period in history. The class enjoyed dressing up plus the hands-on activity boxes. And we all enjoyed a sing-song round the piano too!
