Young Sports Ambassadors YSAs

Mrs O'Hara has appointed 6 YSAs to assist with the promotion of PE at Bitterne Manor. They will present awards and choose a Young Sports person of the month. They may have the opportunity to talk at other schools and hold a meeting at Bitterne Manor for other YSAs to share ideas. They were the successful candidates out of 20 children who applied. They were chosen from a written presentation of why they would be good Ambassadors.

Year 1 Visit Bitterne

Year 1 visited Bitterne today to carry out a traffic survey and a learning walk around the town centre. The children were very knowledgeable about the local area and the shops and services in the town. Greggs and Sainsburys seemed to be their favourites...

Excellent Egyptians!

Egyptians arrive at Bitterne Manor!

On Wednesday, a lady came to tell us lots of information about Ancient Egypt.  We learnt a lot, including that there were 7 different Cleopatra's and we learnt how to write in hieroglyphics.  We loved playing the Egyptian games and learnt that the Egyptians called themselves people from the black lands.  We even learnt about the two headed, six legged monsters!

On Thursday we held an Egyptian feast.  We all ate our Egyptian food (which was lovely, but did turn out to be fatal for Mr Adams!)  We all dressed up in our Egyptian clothes and even got our faces painted.  We had a wonderful time poisoning and mummifying Roman Adams.    (Thank you Mr Adams!)  We all looked like real Egyptians.  It's been a brilliant topic and we've learnt a lot!
