Football tournament

Bitterne Manor have started the football season with very respectable results in the first tournament of the year. Winning one, losing one and drawing six games. As you can see by the photos, the boys put in all their effort and were exhausted, but also exhilarated. Bring on the league!!

Maths strategies in year 2

Year 2 have been working really hard since the start of term learning many different strategies for solving addition and subtraction word problems. Keep up the hard work year 2!

Hudl love in year 6!

Over the past week, year 6 have had the pleasure of testing the schools new tablets.  The PTA have very kindly bought 15 new Hudls for the school and WE LOVE THEM!  The children love having them as tools in the classroom.  They use the dictionaries and thesaurus apps regularly during literacy and are enjoying problem solving on my maths.  The children have researched Mary Anning in science and we are looking forward to using them in Milford-on-sea next week.  THANK YOU PTA!

Our Learning Values in YrR

I have been very impressed by how our new Year R have settled into Bitterne Manor and are already 'learning to be the best we can'. They have been using their head, heart and hands for lots of different learning activities. This is something we are working on across KS1 and KS2 also. Ask your child about how they use their head, heart and hands to learn. Hopefully, they will be able to explain!!

New Tablets in Action!

Here are Year 6 in action for the first time using our new tablets as part of their lessons. Through your generosity in supporting our PTA fund raising events last year, we have purchased a set of 'Hudls' to use across the school. Children can use these to help them learn in all sorts of new and cool ways. Year 6 will also be taking them along on their trip to Milford on Sea next week.

New House Captains

Congratulations to this year's new House Captains! They have been chosen to represent their teams and be responsible for collecting and announcing the points each week. This year we have added to their responsibilities by putting them in charge of the Praise Board and 'Kind Kevin'.
