Visit from chef James Golding

Year 4 had the pleasure of having award winning chef James Golding visit the class. He is head chef at THE PIG restaurant in Brockenhurst.

THE PIG is in the privileged position of having its own farm next door that provides the vast majority of the meat that James turns into delicious dishes.  Their kitchen garden also ensures the freshest vegetables, all picked to order, and everything is grown or reared to organic standards.

He brought in different food types and we had to guess where on our tongues we could taste the flavours.

Our plate of different sustainable food

What can you smell?

What vegetable is this?

Thank you James for letting us try some of your organic food!

Fighting back against bullying

Year 3 have had a fantastic week thinking about anti bullying. We have had lots of conversations, done some drama and looked at bullying in our book, Krindlekrax. This afternoon, our week culminated in making an anti bullying shield. We chose respect, courage, sticking together and acceptance as being the things we thought were very important. We think it looks amazing!

SAM was on the gate this morning...

To say a huge well done to all the children who were at school on time today!
Well done all of you!

Year R enjoy anti-bullying week!

Year R have been learning about what bullying and anti-bullying means. We have been acting out different role-plays and thinking about how it makes us feel, we all agreed that it feels much better when we are being kind to each other and including everyone.

We have also explored the similarities between as all and we have celebrated the differences! We each drew a picture of ourselves and wrote what we are proud of about ourselves on a piece of a jig-saw. We then put this together to see that in Year R, 'we all fit together!'.

Year 1 Geography walk around the local area

Year 1 worked so hard on our walk this morning. We drew our own maps as we walked along Quayside road and Rampart road, used a compass to show the direction we were travelling and drew pictures of man made and natural objects.
Well done year 1!
