DT moon buggies

On Tuesday 10th February,  Year 5 were lucky enough to have lots of parents come in to help them finish their moon buggies. The workshop was a great success and the finished products were impressive. We were very excited that so many of them moved! Well done to children, parents and most especially Mrs Perry, Mrs Peterson, Miss Gallaway and Mrs Adams without whose skill, enthusiasm and endless reserves of patience they would not have been made!

Year 5 Space homework

This half term Year 5 tried a different format for their home learning projects.  They had a range of options open to them and the results were truly stunning.  A big thank you to parents and children for the enthusiasm with which they embraced the challenge. I am loving marking them and have been blown away by some of your finished pieces. A delicious thanks also for the delightful space cookies which made their way in!

Bitterne Manor children get Dancing!

Solent University brought the dance mats into the hall today where every child in school had the chance to strut their stuff as well as taking part in the competition.  Results have been collated and there is a winner from each year group who will receive a certificate.  These results will also be compared to other schools across the city in a Dance mat league.

Year 2 Space Day!

Yesterday Year 2 had their Space Day, which was the final outcome to show off all that we have been learning about this term.  We recorded ourselves making a video diary in role as an astronaut, talking about all the things that we would have been doing in space!  We did freeze frames of Neil Armstrong's life, took pictures and  wrote about each event. We also completed our rocket building - including a launch pad and lunar module! Well done Year 2!

Roman day

Year 4 had a great Roman day yesterday.

We tried traditional Roman food, including a 2000 yr old recipe for stuffed dormice (we used chicken!) and went into the kitchen and cooked delicious honey tartlets.

On the field in the afternoon we took part in our battle with the Celts!
