Year 6 Home Learning Projects

A huge well done to Year 6 who have produced some amazing Home Learning Projects about the Vikings! They have enjoyed finding out about this period in History and have created some fantastic models, fact sheets, timelines and stories.

Scare the Cars Away!

On the 27th November. we are inviting children to take part in a "Scare the Cars Away" initiative run by Southampton City. The aim of this day is to encourage the children to travel actively to school, to celebrate Road Safety Week and to ‘scare the cars away’. We hope to see a dramatic reduction in car numbers on the day and most importantly teach the children that active travel can be a lot of fun!

Obviously, it is not our intention to encourage children to actually scare cars...!

Instead, we will be asking the children to make 'scary' mask and writing an acrostic poem. Please watch out for our letter in the next few days for the details! We would like you to encourage your children to take part in the poetry competition – the closing date is Friday 18th November - and there's a chance to win a prize scooter!

Thank you for taking part.

Happy Blogday = 1000th Post!

This is the moment that marks our 1000th post on the Bitterne Manor Primary School Blog.  With almost 60000 page views that's almost 300 views per pupil since we started in 2010. We hope you've found it both useful and informative. If you've enjoyed it so far, please stick around for the next 1000!
