New dining hall equipment!

Mrs Rice and I had a meeting before Christmas with the Chief Executive of City Catering; the company who provide our delicious schools meals. The outcome of the meeting was that we could spend a 'little bit' of their money improving some of the equipment the children were using during lunchtime (and you know how good Mrs Rice and I are at spending others money to make our school the best!)

Today the children had a lovely, brand new salad bar, new cutlery holders and 2 new waste disposal units! This equipment was long overdue and has really improved the lunchtime service we offer our children.

Chocolate Raffle!

We apologise in advance to those who may have begun their 'New Year Resolutions' but this is for a good cause...! Mrs Carter who leads the school Eco Team has won a Cadbury's chocolate hamper for completing a survey online during Energy Month! Unfortunately the hamper arrived late afternoon on the last day of term, so we couldn't distribute the chocolate. So we then thought that it would be a good idea to run a 'Chocolate Raffle!'

Every child will be entered into the raffle. We are just asking for a small voluntary contribution of 50p to go towards our Eco Team. Please send this in by the end of this week. The Eco Team will then hold the raffle with Mrs Carter one day next week. The lucky winners will come home with some chocolate!

All contributions will be spent on badges for the Eco Team and food waste (fruit peelings) bins for each class, which can then be composted. Please support this good cause!

Year 5 going tor goals!

Year 5 had a great day today learning about what kind of learners we all are.  The children had to plan and teach their partners a new skill, considering their partners' best learning style; creative, logical, spatial etc.  They came up with some amazing ideas for how to best teach their skill - well done Year 5.

Carols in the Playground...

We held a special end of term carol singing event in the playground today with the support of our PTA. It was a lovely way to end the term and we'd like to thank everyone that contributed. We wish everyone a Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all back safely in the new year on Monday 4th January 2016!

Our New Flag Designs...

After much deliberation and redrafting of our ideas, we're pleased to unveil the latest draft versions of our designs for our new house flags designed by the children.

Swift Christmas Crafts!

So as the countdown to Christmas begins, we decided to bring some Christmas fun into the Swift class and spread some Christmas cheer! We made some chocolate Christmas trees using KitKat bars (the staff were very impressed but mostly because of the scraps left to nibble on...unfortunately Mr Adams missed out!) We even decoated some felt templates using fabric pens and GLITTER!! Lets see what tomorrow brings...big thanks to Mrs Stubley and Mrs Carey for coming up with these ingenius ideas. What would Miss Sangha do without them hey? :)
