Robots in Rooks!

To end our Iron Man project, Rooks have been working hard to create their own Iron Man Mascot - for their house!
They had to work hard in a team to measure, design and work out how to make their robot, as well as use their science knowledge about circuits to make the eyes light up.
We think they have come out really well!!

OWLS DT DAY - COMPLETE!

As promised, here are some pictures of our finished toys with working cam mechanisms from Year 5's DT day.  The children had great fun and are very proud of how their toys turned out.  Well done Owls!

PTA Easter Eggstravaganza! Win a chocolate egg - or 20!

On Friday 7th April 2017, the draw will take place to win one of 20 Children’s Easter Egg prizes! We have a selection of chocolate eggs to win, kindly donated by Sainsbury’s in Bitterne and purchased by the PTA. Tickets cost only 20p each - and you can buy as many as you like to increase your chances of winning! More tickets are available in the school office every day this week and all proceeds will go towards funding the new play equipment in the school playground. 

Friday will also see children enjoy some activities in class to win an extra little chocolate prize as a thank you from the PTA for all your support. No-one will go home empty-handed! (alternatives will be provided for those with allergies).

OWLS CLASS DT DAY!

Owls class have had a day full of designing, creating and making today, as they made a moving toy with a cam mechanism as part of their DT topic.  They worked in pairs to design and make their toy by sawing, painting, gluing, drawing and fixing each part of their model.  We are NEARLY finished so watch this space for the final product.
