Year 5 are once again taking part in the Virgin Bank "Grow your money" project, where they learn to become young entrepreneurs. They have had a loan of £5 each to invest in a business idea that they are going to work in groups to sell at the summer fayre in order to make a profit and make their money grow!
They pitched their ideas to the 3 "Dragons" yesterday, in our very own Dragons' Den! The children were very enthusiastic and articulate in selling their ideas to the panel of Crazy M, Mrs Hayward and Mr Stipic. They were given some fantastic feedback and lots of ideas to consider to help them make the best profit that they can. Thank you so much Dragons for giving up your time. We really appreciated your experience, top tips and feedback. Well Done Year 5 for all your hard work preparing your presentations. Look out for our amazing stalls at the Fayre.

Budding gardeners
Today year 1 were lucky enough to go on our trip to hilliers. The weather was not on our side but we still had an amazing time. We learned all about what happens to our seeds when we plant them, loosing them as we travelled around. We then continued to learn about pollination and what the bees do. We took a trip through a bambo tunnel and over a rickety bridge to investigate the pond. After lunch we continued learning about bees and how they see the world by using coloured slides to look through. Yellow through a purple slide really stood out. The last thing we did was made smelly caterpillars, we used a range of herbs from the garden to make our amazing caterpillars.
What an amazing and tiring day we had.
Have a look at some of our pictures from today.

Ancient Greek pottery
As part of their topic on the Ancient Greeks, Year 6 have been finding out about the uses of pottery in Ancient Greece. They have learnt how to make clay coil pots and have used the technique to make some fantastic pots in a range of shapes and sizes. They will then decorate them in a similar style to those used by the Ancient Greeks.
Year 6 on the Top Table!
Year 6 enjoyed being served lunch by Mrs Hayward, Mr Adams and Mrs Egerton as their reward for collecting so many Kind Kevin tokens! Well done!

SUPER SWIFTS SMASH SATS!
Swifts have worked INCREDIBLY hard this week and I am so PROUD of them ALL! They undertook their SATs papers for Reading and Maths which help contribute towards the teacher assessments at the end of the school year. They tackled these tests head on with a calm and positive manner. Living up to their name, they did exactly what was asked of them and carried on learning to be the best that they can! Well done SUPERSTARS! Thank you to all those members of staff that were in involved - you were brilliant! Also, a special shout out to our fab parents that have supported us throughout our journey, couldn't have done it without all your support at home!
Well done SUPER SWIFTS!!
Swifts Love Music!
Super Swifts have had the opportunity to take part in learning recorders every Friday to help encourage a taste for music! They have done incredibly well so far and are learning new notes each session. It won't be long now until they become recorder experts! Keep it up SUPER Swifts :)

OWLS PERFORM RADIO ADVERTS ON STAGE!
Owls class wrote Radio Advert scripts to persuade the public to buy their delicious, nutritious cereal bars today. They wrote their scripts in pairs and got to perform them on our brand new outside stage this afternoon. They used some amazing descriptive vocabulary such as "succulent fruit", "wild-flower honey", "creamy Greek yoghurt" and "marvelous mixed seeds"! They also wrote slogans to end their adverts. My favourites were "with a super bar - you're the hero" and "be a Titan - have a Titan bar"! Well done Owls - I loved watching your performances and you definitely made my mouth water!
