Summer Fayre Friday 6th July

We appreciate it is a busy time of year, but we wanted to send a reminder regarding the school Summer Fayre which is taking place this Friday.

On Friday (6th July) children may come to school in non-uniform and in exchange we are asking for contributions of chocolate from children in Key Stage 1 (years R, 1 and 2), and bottles (sealed and in date) from children in Key Stage 2 (years 3, 4, 5 and 6), which can be put into the chocolate and bottle tombola stalls at the Summer Fayre.

There are also raffle tickets on sale, which the children should have brought home in the middle of June. There are plenty more left to buy, please call into the school office to pick up yours today!

If anybody fancies themselves as the next Bake Off star, we would also welcome donations of cakes for our popular cake stall for the Fayre.

All donations of time, help and produce - however big or small - are greatly appreciated!

Finally, there are some jars in reception for children to make donations to see their chosen member of staff gunged at the Fayre... it's currently a very close call, any loose change your children may want to bring in could make all the difference on the day!

New SUPER Swifts soar into Year 2 today!

It was that time of year where I met my new little Swifties today! They were very excited and absolutely...AMAZING! Taking part in lots of fun activities they showed their creative sides and got a small glimpse of what's to come. Hope you all had fun reading your messages and are looking forward to being in Year 2! Here's a sneak peak of their day...

Gunge Tension Mounting...!

The Gunge pots are slowly filling up... so far we have raised over £130!

Leading the way, in no particular order, are Miss Sangha, Miss Tolley and Miss Jones.
Creeping not far behind are Miss Benning, Mr Adams and Mrs Egerton...

Gunge pots are currently in the main office, and will be with Crazy M in the playground during the fayre on Friday- don't forget to contribute!

NSPCC Visit to Y6

Following by an engaging assembly by the NSPCC on how to 'Speak out, Stay safe!', year 6 enjoyed a detailed workshop on the importance of talking through worries with a trusted adult.

We learnt the Childline number off by heart - 0800 1111

We also discussed many situations and scenarios where children are forced to do things that they don't want to do. Sometimes this is OK, like being told to hold an adults hand when crossing the road, but sometimes it is not OK.

We also learnt about different types of abuse, like emotional, physical, sexual abuse and neglect. We learnt how each one can affect children, and the best way to deal with them, which is to always tell a trusted adult.

We talked about lots of different trusted adults who children could talk to; parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles, teachers, childline, even the police.

Sports Day 2018

Just a few pictures from today's Sports Day. All the children were brilliant taking part with their teams and in the individual races - all doing their very best and enjoying themselves. It was also great to see the huge number of parents showing great support for their children and staying on for the picnic too. While there were very many individual 'well dones', the House Team selected for the overall 'Fair Play' award was Superstars.  The overall winning House Team was Heroes.
Well done to everyone!

Kestrels support Kingfishers with their Sports Day practice

It was a real delight this afternoon to watch the eldest children in our school supporting our youngest so brilliantly.  Kingfishers were fantastic at listening carefully to Kestrels and following their instructions to practice a few of the activities ahead of tomorrow's sports day.  Well done also to Kestrels for showing patience and coaching the younger children really well in each of the sports.  A great job from both classes!
