Oh boy did we get Robins and Swifts good today! We used our magic to inflate the balloons and lift us high in the sky for all of BMPS to see!

Of course we included a positive message in our magic today... The only way is up! Keep smiling everyone, we have made it this far and are so close to the end! 

Jazzy Jays have been busy making...poo?

Good Afternoon!

Jazzy Jays have had a rather strange start to their afternoon. We are learning about the digestive system so we made some poo! 

We used a ziplock back to represent the stomach and added some digestive biscuits, a banana and some orange juice to it. We then churned it up to make a big, horrible liquidy mess. We then passed this mess through to a pair of tights to represent the small intestine. As we couldn't really represent the nutrients being taken out, we moved on to the large intestine. Here, we squeezed all of the excess liquid out of the tights. We were squeezing for quite a long time! Finally we cut a hole out of the tights and squeezed out all of the waste from a hole in the end of the tights (you can imagine what this was meant to represent...!).

Clever Never Goes!

Please find below some information about the 'Clever Never Goes' campaign which has been created for parents in partnership with  Hampshire Police. We hope you find it useful!

We all want our kids to be happy and confident.

As they get older, we want them to be able to explore the outside and online worlds safely. One of the biggest challenges facing any parent is how to give your child enough freedom to learn for themselves – sometimes from their mistakes – whist fulfilling that most basic parental duty to keep your kids safe. There’s no escaping that worrying things do sometimes happen. Whether it’s something suspicious in your local community or a huge national media story, there are times when we need to be able to pick up a conversation with our kids, re-assure them, and remind them how to stay safe. Unfortunately, too many parents and schools are all too often turning to ‘stranger danger’ to do this. We say ‘unfortunately’ because ‘stranger danger’ simply doesn’t work. The simple fact is that most strangers would help rather than hurt a child. And the people that do want to hurt children are often not strangers. Teaching children to stay safe by focusing on strangers is just – well – dangerous.

Clever Never Goes gives parents and teachers a tried and tested replacement for ‘stranger danger.’

You won’t be left telling your child to fear the worst of everyone they don’t know. You’ll be finely tuning their instincts, to spot if someone (anyone) is asking them to go somewhere, and to know what action to take to stay safe.

It’s designed to be positive, practical, playful and – above all else – to keep things in perspective. Take a look at our Clever Never Goes resources and lets ditch the fear and keep our kids safe, not scared.

Robins and Swifts have a visit from the elves..

 Reggie Red Bottom and Sparkle Glitter Pants have landed at Bitterne Manor in the Swifts and Robins class..

We thought it would be nice to do a daily diary of their night time antics.... let's see what they have been up to already...

Tonight we arrived at Bitterne Manor Primary School, what a fantastic school! They even have swings hanging from the ceiling...

What an amazing first day spent in our new classes! The children are absolutely fantastic and Santa was definitely right telling us they were all on the good list!

They even left us a Christmas tree out to decorate... what do you think?

Jazzy Jays have been spreading Christmas kindness

 

Good Afternoon! 

Jays' PSHE topic for this half term has been all about "respecting ourselves and others". With Christmas just around the corner, we decided to make some compliment advent calendars. We chose a name at random and wrote 25 compliments behind 25 doors. We then cut out the doors and decorated the calendars to make them all festive. We opened door 1 together today and there were so many big, cheesy grins! It was really lovely to see.

Phonics fun!

 What better way to start the week than with a fun phonics lesson outside? 

Robins were using the parachute to listen to the sounds within words. If it is your sound, are you ready to run under the parachute?
