Tik Tok Concerns

We have been notified by the Local Authority that there has been some disturbing content on Tik Tok recently.  The minimum age for this app is 13 but I am aware that many of our pupils have elder siblings who may be accessing it.  If your child does come across anything that causes concern, please report this to the police.

You can find further advice and guidance around security settings for Tik Tok (and other apps) including how to report any disturbing content, by using the following links:

Skylarks have been diving into our new topic...GREEN FINGERS!

We will learning all ablout plants this half term! Our vegetable patch is growing beautifully, thanks to the hard work of the children!

We have also been getting creative, using flowers to create prints and experimenting with the technique of pointillism!

Sunny Fairthorne Part 2 - The one with LOTS of photos!

Kestrels had a fabulous day in the sun at Fairthorne yesterday.  They challenged themselves with four different activities: crate challenge, Jacob's ladder, aerial runway and abseiling and were superb at supporting and encouraging each other throughout.  They also got to enjoy some 'downtime' between activities with some ball games in the sports hall and enjoyed some fun camp songs to round off our very busy day.  Lots of fantastic memories were made!
After such a busy, action packed day it's probably not a surprise that they are all rather quiet in school today!!

Bitterne Manor Bake Off!

Some of our Year 6 pupils have done an amazing job of baking cakes today.  They followed a recipe; measured out their own ingredients; mixed the batter by hand and finished them to perfection.  I can confirm that they taste as good as they look!

School of Sanctuary Award

We were thrilled to receive the School of Sanctuary Award on 21st May 2021, along with two other schools in the city.  We achieved this after submitting evidence of the work we do in school and our ethos of inclusion, tolerance and acceptance of all.  A school of Sanctuary is a school committed to being a safe and welcoming place for all, especially those seeking sanctuary.  This could be people whose lives were in danger in their own country, who have troubles at home or are just looking for a space of safety.  The story has been picked up by the Daily Echo and can be viewed using the following link.  It will also appear in print within the next few days.
