Thank you so much for all your kind donations of books to support the Matarajio School in Kenya. There has been a fantastic response and I have no doubt they will be incredibly grateful to have so many new books to enjoy. Well done to our pupils who launched the appeal in assembly and have been promoting it in school.

Sports Leadership Event
On Tuesday, 12 children were chosen from Year 5 and 6 to take part in a leadership event held at Bitterne Park School which involved working as a team, discussing what makes a good leader and then using that knowledge within their groups. A lot was learnt and we aim to use this knowledge in the summer term.

Skylarks are becoming Wild Citizens
Children in Skylarks are having the exciting opportunity of taking part in a Wild Citizens Project! - enabling children to become active environmental citizens.
This is a projectis lead by the University of Southampton aiming to engage children with nature and biodiversity by getting them to investigate and enhance the biodiversity of our school’s grounds.
Each week the children are working together to help create our own wild garden in the grounds of our school. During these activities, children will do some exciting science activities outdoors, acting as scientists and carrying out their own research.
