Swifts have had a WONDERFUL day immersing ourselves in our new summer topic… MAGNIFICENT MONARCHS!
The class room was decorated with flags and bunting and the
children arrived at school dressed as Kings and Queens!
We started our day by drawing our own royal portraits which
linked to our art topic. The children loved using their artistic skills to add
detail and shading to their artwork.
After playtime, Swifts learnt how to Waltz! It was wonderful
to see the children dancing so beautifully to the music!
We finished off our day by making and enjoying our very own afternoon tea! The children enjoyed jam sandwiches and scones!
Take a look at the pictures below to see a snap shot of the
fun we have had…

All classes had great fun completing the sponsored obstacle course today! We not only saw some great physical ability, resilience and risk taking but also some amazing sportsmanship, leadership and kindness to others.
Each family will now have taken home a pot with a sunflower seed and some instructions! We would love you to try and grow your sunflower and share with us your success (or failure!) during the Summer term. These have been kindly provided by Dobbies Garden Centre. We are grateful to them for supporting activities like this which connect our pupils with nature.
Congratulations to the winners of our Easter Bunting competition! Entries from each class were judged by our House Captains. All entries are displayed in the entrance to school- they look amazing! Well done to all that entered!
