Paultons Park

Yesterday, Kestrels had a wonderful time at Paultons as their end of year treat. It was a great day and fun was had by all, children and adults alike!

Farewell Kestrels...

So today we said our farewells to Kestrel class 2023. There were quite a lot of tears shed, but also lots of laughs and smiles!
Thank you for being a fantastic class. The year 6 team are all so very proud of you.
A huge thank you for all our thoughtful gifts and cards today, we were touched by your generosity.
Now, have a fabulous summer and the very best of luck starting your new schools in September. We look forward to you coming back to visit us and telling us how you are getting on!

Summer Fair Activity Afternoon

Sadly, we weren't able to to run our summer Fair as planned this year but we think the children enjoyed their afternoon of activities and games as you can see in the pictures below. Thanks for all your donations - it isn't too late to make a contribution before the end of term!

Kestrels' Art Gallery

Kestrels finished their 'Bees, Beetles and Butterflies' art topic by creating our own art gallery. On display were the amazing drawings, paintings, collages, prints and Pop Art inspired pieces. Jays visited the gallery and chatted to our artists about their work. They were very impressed and hopefully have been inspired!

Beautiful textile work from kestrels...

Kestrels have completed their final DT project - making memory cushion covers. They have demonstrated superb sewing skills appliquing the front of their cushions and then enjoyed getting friends to sign the backs of them as a memento of their time at BMPS.  😍

Butterfly Fundraiser - Friends of Bitterne Station

Dear parents and carers,

You might have seen a colourful butterfly on your walk to school (footbridge between Quayside Road and Athlestand Road). This is the work of artists Joanna Rose Tidey, the first of 11 artworks to appear in our community in the next ten months as part of a community art project led by Friends of Bitterne Station (FoBS) and funded by South West Railways Community Improvement funds.

While the SWR funds cover the costs of Joanna's work and materials, FoBS have started a fundraiser to buy anti-graffiti paint to cover Joanna's work so that they will not get damaged (read more here:http://www.cobbettroad.info/nature-all-around-us.html). Many local families have already contributed by sponsoring a small butterfly.

For £10 you can sponsor a small butterfly on the long wall by Joanna's mural, choose the colours and have your initials (or the one of a dear one) added.

If you would like to sponsor a butterfly, email bitternestationhub@gmail.com
They are collecting requests until Tuesday18th of July to add more butterflies next week.
Or you can visit them at Bitterne Station this Sunday (10 am-12) and you can make your donation then.

Thank you for your support,
Friends of Bitterne Station
