Evacuation cum VE Day celebrations

To round off our History topic 'We'll Meet Again', Year 4 were evacuated to different locations during the morning. Each group experienced a different reception at their host 'school', which we were able to share in the afternoon. All groups did some baking plus planned a menu for the day using rationed items 'bought' from a local shop using ration cards.

VE Day was celebrated in the afternoon. At the end of the afternoon, many parents and family came to our 'street party' to celebrate with us. Work was displayed, along with homework projects. The class also showed their WWII documentary films, made using 'movie maker' during our ICT lessons. The class dressed in role and looked superb. What a great way to finish our topic!

School Council Surgery

On Tuesday, 25th June, the School Council held an open-air surgery so that the rest of the school could come and talk to them and share their ideas about the school, and how to make even better.

Thank you to all of you who put an idea in the suggestion box, there were some fabulous ideas! The new  School Council next year will be able to have a look at them and decide if they can make any of the ideas come true!

PTA Disco

We'd like to say a big THANK YOU! to everyone for supporting our summer disco on Friday.
Crazy M had everyone dancing, made funky balloon hats and showered us in snow!

With your help we raised almost £250

Y4 visit to Milestones Museum

Year 4 went back in time as they wandered the streets of war time Britain to learn more about Home Front Life from 1939 to 1945 at Milestones Museum. Character actors and an audioguide brought to life this period in history. The class enjoyed dressing up plus the hands-on activity boxes. And we all enjoyed a sing-song round the piano too!

Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers 2013

The count is in! We managed to collect 13, 048 vouchers! A BIG thank you and well done to all those who brought vouchers in for the school. We will be using them to 'buy' some new equipment to keep the children active throughout the school.

A big shout out to all the Year 6 children who helped count the vouchers...you know who you are!!!
They did an amazing job, as you can imagine, it was a mammoth task which they did brilliantly. Thank you Year 6!

If you find any odd ones we can still add them. The closing date will be Friday, 28th June.
