Fundraiser Event!
Wow! Children at Bitterne Manor have been busy today at the fundraiser challenge put on by the super J Rock team! We tried to match the distance of the Amazon River which is 6, 992km! Each class tried their absolute hardest and showed so much determination. The rundown of each class is as follows...
Kingfishers - 192km
Robins- 366km
Swallows - 428km
Swifts - 780km
Nightingales - 830km
Rooks - 992km
Owls - 1, 156km
Kestrels - 979km
So, total distance collated was... 5, 714! So close!! Fantastic effort everyone, you were all amazing!
Please remember to send in your sponsor forms and money asap to the office. The money raised from KS1 will go towards an AED for our school and the money raised from KS2 will go towards J Rock!

More votes are needed - time is running out!
Looks like our votes are rising but we still need a lot more. If someone voted on behalf of every child in our school we'd be 2400 votes up - so we've a way to go to achieve that goal. Please click on the picture above or here to vote - it takes 2 minutes. We have only 13 days left to vote! Thanks for your support!

'AED' Fundraising Support
Currently there is no legal requirement for defibrillators to be kept in primary schools but if they are used within the first few minutes of a cardiac arrest they can give people a 70% chance of survival. There is no question that the number of deaths from cardiac arrest could be dramatically reduced if all schools were defibrillator protected.
That is why we are hoping to raise funds in order to purchase an AED for Bitterne Manor, to help protect the students, staff, and visiting parents and grandparents.
We are challenging all students in KS1 to take part in a ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ Fundraising Event on Wednesday 8th November (please ensure PE kits are in school). We want to utilise student enterprise to help raise the funds to purchase an AED for school.
Physical Challenge – each class will take part in completing laps of an obstacle circuit that involves climbing over numerous obstacles. How many laps can we complete? You will find a sponsorship form attached to this letter, please get as many sponsors as possible and then return your form along with monies collected to the school office by Friday 17th November.
Thank you in advance for your support!
