Swallows go to the ZOO!!!!

Well what an exciting day Swallows have had! Marwell Zoo was a success... from the giant giraffes, to the mischievous meerkats, to the lounging leopards, there was plenty to see! Swallows were extremely brave when having the opportunity to touch a 'Madagascan hissing cockroach' and a SNAKE... they certainly had more courage than me! I was blown away by the children's excitement to learn and explore... I've never seen so many happy smiling faces! I'm sure there are some very tired Swallows now!

Thank you so much to all the helpers! You were all amazing and we could not have done it without you!

Take a peak below at some of the many highlights of the day...

SUPER SWIFTS LOVE THE ZOO!

Wow! What a great day it has been for Year 2 today!  We had the pleasure of visiting Marwell Zoo:)  As children have been learning about Africa and different animals it gave them a chance to explore what they had researched in the flesh!  From seeing the cool penguins, adorable giraffes to those cheeky meerkats, the class were in awe.  I could not fault their attitude but most importantly their sheer ability to walk around the whole zoo!  They will most definitely sleep well tonight :)

The most memorable moment was probably seeing a REAL snake up close in the educational workshop.  My goodness were they brave! Ebony the snake loved being stroked by the children (More so than the adults!) All in all it has been the BEST day!

Here are some highlights of our FAB day...

Summer Fayre Friday 6th July

We appreciate it is a busy time of year, but we wanted to send a reminder regarding the school Summer Fayre which is taking place this Friday.

On Friday (6th July) children may come to school in non-uniform and in exchange we are asking for contributions of chocolate from children in Key Stage 1 (years R, 1 and 2), and bottles (sealed and in date) from children in Key Stage 2 (years 3, 4, 5 and 6), which can be put into the chocolate and bottle tombola stalls at the Summer Fayre.

There are also raffle tickets on sale, which the children should have brought home in the middle of June. There are plenty more left to buy, please call into the school office to pick up yours today!

If anybody fancies themselves as the next Bake Off star, we would also welcome donations of cakes for our popular cake stall for the Fayre.

All donations of time, help and produce - however big or small - are greatly appreciated!

Finally, there are some jars in reception for children to make donations to see their chosen member of staff gunged at the Fayre... it's currently a very close call, any loose change your children may want to bring in could make all the difference on the day!

Taking part in lots of fun activities they showed their creative sides and got a small glimpse of what's to come. Hope you all had fun reading your messages and are looking forward to being in Year 2! Here's a sneak peak of their day...
