Our sporting teams have been doing a great job representing the school in recent competitions. Our U11 footballers (above) are currently progressing through the city league and cup competitions and doing rather well! Our cross country team also had a great result - one of our boys has made the top 10 in the city and one of our girls was just outside. The girls team managed to come 6th out of the 28 teams competing and our boys were 18th out of the 43 teams. That's over 1400 runners taking part from 20 schools which is a record for the cross country league. The top 10 individuals will be invited to go on to compete in the county finals. Well done to all those taking part and we will be looking for opportunities to participate in more events as the year progresses. Thanks to all the parents who have supported the event and have been transporting their own and other children to events!

Cross Country Team Bitterne Manor
Well done to all 17 children who took part in the Southampton Schools Cross Country event this evening. I was so impressed with the grit and determination our pupils' showed in what is a tough event against over 300 other children from schools across the city. Great effort and I hope the experience was positive... as what's even more exciting - we'll be racing again next week! They should all be looking forward to it - and I'll remember the kits this time. I do have to make a special mention of Hubert and Poppy who came 6th and 14th respectively. They'll need to be watching out as there is some real talent close behind them in the younger part of the school...

Cross Country Crew!
Cross country crew! Around 20 children this term have been
competing on a Friday evening at the outdoor sports centre. The School’s Cross Country League often
highlights the best local athletic talent and gives our children the
opportunity to actively compete against a large amount of city children. Each session has included approximately 180
boys and a further 140 girls all completing a tough mile long course up and
down the hills of the centre. Currently
our girls’ team lies in 8th place from 23 and the boys 20 from
33. All the children have improved their
placings in every race they have ran so far, special mention goes to Ellen who
has finished in the top ten runners every week.
