The Cola reacted the best and made a MASSIVE fountain, exploding everywhere! It was...SCIENCE-TASTIC! I wonder what we could change for next year to make it even bigger...

EPIC End to SWIFT'S SUPER Science week!
Super Swifts had an epic end to Science week! We finished with the best experiment yet...which liquids would EXPLODE when popping in a packet of mentos! Children predicted which liquid they thought would react the most, least and created questions that they wanted to answer. It was FANTASTIC! Poor Mrs Carey though, she got soaked!

Super Swifts LOVE blowing BUBBLES!
Day 3: Bubble Bobble
So, today we thought we'd test which 2D Shapes created the best bubbles. Each Swift was given a piece of wire to bend to their desired shape, this was the perfect opportunity to apply their maths skills. To make it even more challenging, we tested the bubbles with three different liquids - washing up liquid, shampoo and shower gel! Can you guess which one performed the best bubbles? It's not what you think...it was the shower gel! Swifts will be writing up their results and explaining why! Take a look below at the fab fun that Swifts had earlier.
BEWARE... bubbles = some very EXCITED Swifts...

Rooks News - Special Report
This term, Rooks topic has been 'In the News'. We have looked at the different ways news is spread around the world, we have written Newspaper articles and created our own news reporting channel, with anchors and roving, on-the-scene reporters.
As a class, we have been reading 'I was a Rat!' by Philip Pullman and have taken it upon ourselves to report on the 'Monster in the sewer' tribunal . We have reported on events and interviewed the relevant witnesses. Over the past couple of week, we have planned, written a script, practiced and today, after all our hardwork, we filmed!
The classroom has been a hive of activity. It has been, 'Lights, camera, action,' as Mr Austin returned wearing his new hat as a 'film producer'.
Here are some of the photos of our day.
