The Golden Lock...
This half term a 'Golden Lock' has been revealed to the children at Bitterne Manor Primary School! To help encourage children to bike or scoot to school they will be given a chance to win a special prize! Mrs Rice will place a 'Golden Lock' on a bike or scooter and that child will win something just for coming to school on it! How cool is that? Ruby was the lucky winner when it started last week. Well done! I wonder who will win next...? Good luck!

J Rock fundraiser!
The Physical Challenge for our fundraiser is now complete!
Mount Everest is 8,848m. The Physical Challenge was a circuit involving climbing up, along and over numerous obstacles. Each lap completed was awarded 5m towards our total.
Puffins - 1060m
Kingfishers - 960m
Robins - 1500m
Swifts - 1320m
Nightingales - 1300m
Rooks - 1480m
Owls - 1445m
Kestrals - 1400m
Our grand total was = 10,465m So we not only achieved our goal of climbing Everest - we started our descent as well!
Every class approached the challenge with determination and all children showed great enthusiasm, supported and encouraged each other to help reach our target.
The children should now be completing the Healthy Living Challenge - can they give up sweets for the week?
Please remember children have been asked to collect sponsorship for the 2 challenges - all monies and forms need to be brought into school by Thursday 22nd October.

Big Pedal Breakfast
This morning was another successful 'Biker's Breakfast' which saw the smoothie bike in action again. We were also visited by Chris Stowe who was scooter training with Year 1 as part of our Big Pedal event. Well done to all those who took part. Keep it up as Bitterne Manor is top of the leader boards in Southampton.
