Kestrels have been busy today building their own shelters on the school field. This tied in with our topic, 'Natural Disasters'. They had to work collaboratively, be organised, resourceful and resilient. We could not be prouder of how well they completed the task. Every group was successful and every group demonstrated good teamwork. Well done Kestrels!!

Top Tent day!
A massive well done to year 6 today!
We spent the day creating our shelters that we had designed in our DT lessons. The children were
A-MA-ZING!
They worked so well in their teams and created some wonderful shelters. The children even took the time to help other children to perfect their shelters!
The children remained dry (mostly) when the shelters waterproof qualities were tested!
Well done Year 6. Mrs Adams and myself are very proud of you all!

Tent-tastic!
This term, we have been planning and preparing to create our own shelter. We have experimented with different materials and tested our models with various amounts of water! In preparation to build our shelters on Thursday, year 6 took the time to put up and examine real life tents. Unfortunately the weather was against us but we still were able to put up the tents indoors!
All the children worked really well in their teams and I am sure they will build excellent shelters on Thursday!
Please help your children to gather the resources they need (they have all decided what they need to bring) and make sure they wear old clothes. We will be building the shelters come rain or shine so please make sure they are prepared!
