Gymnastics Festival - Bitterne Manor winners
Tuesday 25th January saw schools come together to show off routines and skills they have been learning and practising. Bitterne Manor pulled out all the stops and were voted winners by Southampton squad coaches who judged on variation of skills and technique. Our children were presented with medals and certificates for their win. Well done. after the performance children had the opportunity to go on all the gymnastic equipment with the skilled coaches. Some of our children were chosen to attend trials for Southanpton Squad places. Hopefully they will be our stars of the future.

Maasai Warriors
Bitterne Manor was visited by two Maasai warriors today, all the way from Tanzania in Africa. Grosper Mollel and Kephas Ndiamasi belong to the Maasai tribe and are also both teachers at the Noonkodin school, near Arusha. They led an assembly telling us about their culture and their school and performed the amazing jumping dance which the Maasai are famous for. They toured the school and the children got to ask them lots of questions about their life in Africa. For more information about Noonkodin visit serianuk.org.uk.
The Mayor's Parlour
Our school council were very lucky to be shown around the Mayor's Parlour by the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Southampton, Carol Cunio. She is the 788th Mayor of Southampton and was once a teacher and remembers teaching at Bitterne Manor Primary School! We were shown around her impressive offices in the civic centre and even allowed to dress up in the official mayoral robes! Enjoy these great pictures:

Year 6 Movie Makers!
Year R get dancing!

In Year R we are very lucky to have a dance coach teaching us for this half term. We have been learning a Chinese dance, how to mirror each other and a skeleton dance. It's been great fun.
