Year 3s Dragon Show was enjoyed by parents and the school in the hall. We began with a dragon themed dance wearing the masks we'd made. Different groups then entertained the audience when they performed dragon poems - well done everyone. A range of our fabulous moving dragons was shown to the audience. Some dragons breathed fire, some had opening mouths and some dragons had flapping wings! The children had worked hard to make their pneumatics work.
At the end of the show, parents had a chance to look at
all

Today Year 4 visited Cheriton. It was all part of our river topic. Little did we know how wet we'd get without even falling in!!!! The weather was against us.....but it did not dampen our spirits, just made our paper soggy! Whilst we were there we compared the location to Bitterne, sights and sounds. We took measurements of the river at 3 different places - the oranges serving a key role in finding the speed of flow of the river!! We also measured the depth and width of the river - we got to put our maths work from this week into practice! Now tomorrow in maths, we are going to use the data we collected to find the answer to the question: Does the river flow fastest at it's widest?
