Year R with Barnaby Bear!

Year R have been busy this half term! We have travelled to lots of different countries with Barnaby Bear and we found out lots of interesting facts. We wrote in our travel diaries each week. We also used our Maths skills to help Barnaby Bear to only pack the lightest objects. Please have a look at our pictures below where you can also see our Chinese restaurant, we even helped to make the food!

Spy Day

Year 6 had a great day pretending to be secret agents! They had some fantastic costumes to help them get into role. After passing the 'spy test', they created secret identities, carried out surveillance and used codes to communicate messages.

The class also had chance to share their amazing Spy Kits they had made for homework with Year 2 children.

Key Stage 2 reward time

Well done to those children in Key Stage 2 who have demonstrated excellent behaviour during Spring 1. They enjoyed a speedstacks competition and showed good team spirit throughout the activities!

Bike It Day!

Thanks to all those who supported our Bike It event - here are some pictures. We had a record 45 bikes checked on the day, a smoothie making bike ride, an assembly about the benefits of bike riding and a healthy breakfast. We have also started to sell bike equipment at a much reduced cost - if anyone is interested then please ask at the office - while stocks last!

Year 2's Florence Assembly

On Friday 15th February, Year 2 celebrated the end of our topic 'Florence: The Soldier's Friend' by performing a play to our parents.

Most of the girls were nurses, and most of the boys were soldiers. We had great fun making the props (thank you to Mrs Carey and Mrs Peterson for helping with these!) We used Lewis' lamp as it had a battery operated candle inside, and this really made it stand out.

We hope our parents really enjoyed it!

Happy Half Term!
From
Year 2 and Miss Blightman :-)

Year 6 Science

Year 6 have been investigating dissolving. They planned and carried out experiments to find out how temperature and the amount of stirring affects the rate at which sugar will dissolve. They used careful measuring to collect their results.
