An electrifying time in year 6

Year 6 have had an exciting time experimenting with electricity this afternoon.  As part of their science topic, the class have been learning about circuits, and the importance of having a complete circuit.   They have experimented with combining them and overloading them.  A lot of learning happened this afternoon and a lot of fun was had by everyone!

Year R enjoy their challenges!

Year R have come back to school with a really positive attitude towards learning! We explored what makes a good learner and we used role-play to act out different scenes.

We challenged ourselves through different activities, including being able to build the tallest tower and aiming balls in nets.

Year R wear their challenge badges with pride! We have a challenge spelling rocket in class and the children are challenging themselves to learn their words in their pot to reach the next level.

Year 2's Secrets of a Successful Learner

Year 2 had a great start to the new term learning how to learn! We thought about what makes a good learner and completed a group challenge to build the tallest free-standing tower of straws! Finally, we set ourselves a challenging target for this half term and we are going to use our "Secrets of a successful learner" to make sure that we achieve them.

Challenging year 6!

Year 6 worked extremely hard today to complete their challenges.  We looked at how to be a successful learner and solve challenges and then the class put together the most fantastic description of 'challenge'.  The children all worked hard to set their own challenges for this term and I will be keeping a check on who completes them!  Good luck year 6!

Year 1 face the challenge!

Year 1 faced the group challenge of building the tallest tower from junk modelling and straws! This afternoon we all set ourselves individual challenges to try and achieve by the end of this half term.

Year 3 pyramid cup challenge!

Year 3 have had a fun morning thinking about 'challenge'. We thought about what it means be a good learner, and then we thought about being challenged. Miss Blightman set us a challenge in our topic groups!  We had to work together using plastic cups, pipe cleaners and elastic bands to try and make a pyramid. It was really hard at first but we tried different methods, communicated with each other and worked out the best strategy to be successful. The quickest group was Red group who managed to do it in 1 minute and 17 seconds! Why not try and challenge yourself to do it? Let us know what time you get!
