Year 5 had a fantastic time at the science centre yesterday learning all about space as part of our "Space academy" topic. In the morning we took part in a workshop where the children had to make a rocket, fill it with different amounts of water and predict how long it would take from take-off to landing. The winner was the team who got the closest prediction. Well done team Red Dwarf!!
We then visited the planetarium and took a tour of our galaxy, learning lots about how far away each planet is and what they are made up of.
Finally, we had some free, hands-on time to explore some of the 100 exhibits. There was just jot enough time and we want to go back! Thank you to the helpers who made the trip possible.
