Rag Bag Recycling...

We regret to inform you that the Rag Bag textile recycling scheme will no longer be available. The company have informed us that the collection scheme is no longer viable. As a consequence, the Rag Bag bin is closed and will be being removed shortly. Thanks to all of you who supported the scheme and helped raise a significant amount of money for the school. We will be looking into alternative schemes as and when they become available. Apologies for any inconvenience!

Off to Osmington...!

We've just said goodbye to our Year 6 who are off for their residential week at Osmington Bay near Weymouth. They'll have a fabulous time. Hopefully, we'll be able to provide more news as their week progresses. In the meantime, it might be a little bit quieter here for the week...

Poppy Apeal

Bitterne Manor will be supporting the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal this year as usual. However, as an alternative to poppies, the appeal has sent schools a collection of various other items that can be obtained for a small donation. These will be available on the school desk in reception throughout this week. Please support if you can!

A great first half-term for Year R!

We have been very busy in Year R with each day filled with lots of activities! We recently enjoyed our trip to the bear factory where each class made a bear who will soon be visiting each home! We also enjoyed our picnic, thank you to all those who were able to make it and we hope you enjoyed your sandwiches!

We also enjoyed attending our first assembly to celebrate our Harvest Festival, thank you very much for the donations! This half-term we will be joining singing assembly each Thursday with Year 1 and 2.

We look forward to our next topic, Jack Frost, and learning all about Autumn and Winter!

Proud to be Bitterne!

Here are some pictures from our 'Proud to be Bitterne' day. The photos feature some of the interesting activities that the children were engaged with including badge making, creating 'Brain of Bitterne' quizzes and designing a brand new game of 'Bitternopoly'! We had some really good ideas about what makes our community great and how we could improve it even further.

If we were leader for the day...

Nightingales have been thinking about what we are proud of about Southampton, and what we would try to improve if we were leaders. We came up with some really sensible suggestions (said Miss Blightman!) We picked one in our groups and thought more about how we would change it. We then presented it to the class and had a vote over which one would take priority. The most popular choice was making our roads safer. Watch out Mr Cameron!

Proud to be Nightingales

Nightingales worked so hard on their shield this morning!  This reflects what we are proud of, both outside and inside school.  We think it looks amazing!
