Year r, puffins english WOW day

Today Puffins have been busy learning all about Space. We started the day by making passports so we could travel around the world. We then had a letter from Bob, the man on the Moon, he needs our help so we made rockets to help us travel. This afternoon we went into space and year 2 came to teach us some interesting facts. We have even had space activities to do. Over the next few days we will be writing a postcard to Bob including some of our favourite facts. We have had an amazing day!

Year 5 English Wow day!

As part of our on-going work on the legends of King Arthur, Year 5 made their very own story boxes today. This morning they made props to help tell the story, then they made a story board of the main events in their own legend. This afternoon, they worked with Year 6 to orally re-tell their stories to each other and finally to decorate their story boxes with the language they will be using when they write their legends this week. I look forward to reading all about their hero's adventures!

Year 1 English WOW Day

Year 1 discovered the Gingerbread man half eaten, wet and soggy in the playground this morning!  We had the task of deciding who did this to him? When did it happen? Why did it happen?  We have had a morning off writing and sharing our notes as reporters. This afternoon we will be reporting our findings on Newsround!

Year 3 English WOW Day!

In English over the past week, Year 3 have been looking at the story of Moses, (linked to Ancient Egypt). This week we are going to retell the story in our own words, and to help us with this we have been creating a 3D story mountain!

We separated the story into 10 different parts and worked in groups of 3 to create a diorama in a box.

We are then planning to retell the story using microphones, and then eventually get together with Year 4 and tell the story really well, before writing our own version.

Here are just some photos of how they look so far!

Year R enjoy 'travelling' to find out about other countries!

We have been very busy finding out more about the world around us! This week, we were very sad to say goodbye to Mrs Crease but before she left we helped her prepare by finding out all about Portugal!

We made passports and 'flew' to Portugal to find out what it is like there and we shared this information with Mrs Crease who is going to send us a post card with an update soon!
