Visit from a bee keeper

Today Robins had a visit from a bee keeper. We were very interested and had lots of questions. We found out what a bee looks like, where a bee lives, what type of honey bees there are and how they make their honey. We were able to look at the honey on frames, spin the honey in the extractor and even taste it. We had such a lovely afternoon and now have lots of information to put in our writing next week.

Sports Day - Pupil Race Order

Our sports day will be held tomorrow morning and parents are invited to attend. We are expecting to start our usual carousel of activities in teams from around 930. Following the carousel, competitive running races will be held for the pupils listed below. We are hoping to be completed by 1200 to allow parents to stay and share a picnic lunch with the children Weather permitting!

Summer Fair Photos!

It was our Summer Fair on Friday! It was fantastic to see so many people there ( & we were so lucky with the weather!) and it was a great atmosphere and loads of things to see and do. We are so grateful to our PTA, staff, pupils and friends who put so much thought and effort into the Fair which makes it such an event! Thanks to everyone who turned out and supported the school.

Home for Gnomes... Maths with BPS!

Some of the girls in Owls had a great opportunity on Wednesday to work alongside pupils from Bitterne Park Secondary. We were hosted by some girls from the very able maths group in Year 9 - including a couple of our ex-pupils - who were inspiring our own girls with some of their aspirations to be scientists, doctors and musicians and how maths is important for their prospects. They then worked together on a 'Home for Gnomes' investigation which really tested their knowledge and application of their mathematical skills! We were given 'Marvin', the gnome, to look after and bring back to school with us.

Disco Beach Party...!

Some pictures from last Friday's beach themed school disco for the children. Led with her customary enthusiasm - plus foam and ballons! - by Crazy M, the children had a brilliant time.
