A massive thank you!

Thank you for all your kind donations towards Mission Christmas - Cash for Kids.  As a school, we raised £134.10 and have a whole selection of toys to donate as well.  This will help make a difference to children affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, disability and life-threatening illness across the South.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks for all your continued support this term. We look forward to seeing you back safe, happy and ready to learn in the new year! Term starts again on the 4th January 2018.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Bitterne Manor Primary School

Swifts and Swallows BURN LONDON...

Wow! What a week it has been in Year 2! As a nice a end to our 'Great Fire of London' topic, we decided to show children a re-enactment of how Pudding Lane burnt down! Children have been busy building a mini model of the street in the lead up to this.  Fortunately, we were able to invite in the local Fire Service who assisted us in this.  They were brilliant! Both experts lit the fire and secured the area so children could watch from afar.  They were ecstatic, Mr Adams included! Here are some highlights from yesterday's event...

Frozen Wonderland Showcase

Today, in Kingfisher Class, the room was transformed into a Frozen Arctic Wonderland. The children had the opportunity to share their learning with family and friends across a range of activities.

The structure of the Early Years curriculum allows us to explore a range of themes across the year and build in learning opportunities that will cater for a number of vital skills simutaneously.

The children finished off the showcase in the Hall with our Frozen dance to Disney's 'Let it Go'. All the children participated whole-heartedly, after reassuring the gentlemen that they would not be required to don any form of Elsa attire!

I would like to say a massive thank you to the children for their wonderful effort and commitment to learning - today and every day! Secondly, once again, I would like to thank you all for your valuable support and investment in your children's learning and progress. If you would like to try out any of these ideas at home, please let us know how you get on - a great introduction to using the hoover too!
