SENSATIONAL Skylarks went on an ANCIENT adventure!

Yesterday was an exciting day for Skylarks...we took a trip to Highclere castle to take a look at their Egyptian Exhibition! The rising turrets of the grand castle looked outstanding surrounded by beautiful country side. We had a jam-packed day of activities, starting with a tour of the grounds and gardens. The children loved racing towards the large trees and exploring the Secret Garden.

Then we ventured inside, where the children had a chance to try on some Egyptian clothing and head dresses, as well as create their name in hieroglyphs!

The grand finale was the one of a kind experience of witnessing the genuine Egyptian artifacts! From ancient scrolls to a remodeled sarcophagus this trip is one we will remember!

Skylarks did Bitterne Manor proud with their outstanding behavior and manners. Their incredible attitude and enthusiasm to show their knowledge and learn more on the Topic of Egyptians was wonderful to see!

A final note to say a huge thank you to all the parent helpers! You were an incredible help and we could not have done it without you!

Take a peak below at the marvellous moments from the day...

Egyptian Explorers!

Nightingales have been trying their hands at becoming Egyptian Explorers! We had such an amazing day on our school trip to Highclere Castle.

We were able to experience lots of different Egyptian themed activities, artifacts and walks around the outstanding exhibition. After the Egyptian exhibition we were even lucky enough to walk around the beautiful gardens that surround the castle! (Even walking through the secret garden and collecting a few conkers as souvenirs!

What a fun-filled experience we have had! Well done Magnificent Nightingales super exploring!

Food Allergies

We have just reviewed our policy regarding Food Allergies in school with Governors and would like to draw the attention of all parents to it at:

We would like to make it clear that we are doing as much as we possibly can to minimise the risk of exposure by encouraging self-responsibility and planning for an effective response to any possible emergencies.
However, we need your support in our efforts to maintain a completely allergen free environment. We are still intercepting snacks and sweets containing allergens - nuts in particular - and would like to remind all parents to be mindful of what they allow their children to bring into school. Thank you to all of you for your support in this matter.

SAM = School Attendance Matters

A few pictures from our SAM (School Attendance Matters) mascot visit last week. Difficult to stay 'cold' free at the moment but well done if you've avoided the unavoidable and keep up the good work everyone! Remember our target is 96% or above!

Super Science in Year 4

This afternoon, Year 4 enjoyed creating their very own string telephones. They experimented with them to see how sound traveled through them.  I was really impressed with the scientific thinking and discussions I heard during the lesson. Well done Rooks!

Times Table Trophies!

Swifts, Skylarks, Nightingales and Rooks are rising to the challenge of collecting their Times Table Trophies!

Across the classes children are challenging themselves to focus on their times tables. It's fantastic to see such enthusiasm from the children towards progressing through the trophies! They will be frequently practicing their tables in class before completing a times table sheet.

Children are delighted when they complete a times table to get a gold star on their Times Table Trophy card and a certificate to take home!
