Year 3 travel back to the STONE AGE!
A fantastic trip to Butser Farm enabled Year 3 to travel back in time to the Stone Age! With amazing activities such as wattling, pottery, chalk carving and archaeology, Skylarks and Nightingales experienced what life would be like in this prehistoric period.

Minibeast hunting
Kingfishers were so excited to go on a minibeast hunt today. We found lots of woodlice and ants. I enjoyed watching the snails move and looking at the patterns on their shells.
Kingfishers collected information about which minibeasts they found by using a tally chart. Later in the week they will share this information in the form of a pictogram.

Under and Over for Kingfishers
In Gym Kingfishers have been learning how to move under and over equipment in Gym.
Previously they learnt how to use their body to travel in different ways. It was great to see them apply this learning while they moved under and over equipment today. Some children were very creative.

New Sports Kit...
...just arrived! Thanks to the PTA and all parent contributions for supporting our new Sports kit which is being modeled here by pupils. The number '91' is not our world ranking but our school identifier number across all events in the county. Looks great!
Swifts set sail on the RMS TITANIC!
WOW! What an exciting morning it's been for the SUPER Swift class today! They boarded the RMS Titanic and my did they have a great time. Each child pulled out a 1st, 2nd or 3rd class ticket from Captain Sangha and swiftly made their way to the ship! Upon arrival they were in awe of what was in store for them. They enjoyed a wonderful feast (some more than others) and took part in the entertainment put on by the team. Each child thoroughly took part in every part of the experience which helped them to then write about it! I can't wait to see what they have written...
I wonder which class you'd prefer to be in...

An Ancient Egyptian CELEBRATION!
Last week Skylarks and Nightingales held their very own Ancient Egyptian assembly to their parents! This was to celebrate all the wonderful work they have produced this half term and the children were so proud to have the opportunity to show it off. Everyone had the opportunity to read out an abstract of their writing and I have to say they were absolutely AMAZING! It was wonderful to see how confidently and clearly everyone read out their incredible writing produced from the this topics work!
Thank you to all those who were able to attend and I hope you enjoyed the experience!
