Jays have spent this morning voting for our Learning Leaders. The children delivered some amazing speeches and now it's time to vote.
A massive well done to all the children that gave a speech, you should all be proud!
GOOD LUCK!

SUPER Swifts learn all about sight!
Last week, the super Swift class were lucky to be visited by the Southampton Sight Awareness group! These wonderful volunteers came in and spoke to the class about sight. The class did a range of activities which enabled them to understand more about our super senses. It was a fabulous experience and they thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Counting ingredients
In Maths Kingfishers were given a 'cauldron'. The children used their number skills to add ingredients to their own cauldron.

Some children were working hard to identify numbers on cards. The cards told them how many ingredients they needed. Others were learning how to match count, while some Kingfishers were working out the total number of ingredients when given two number cards. Super Maths Kingfishers.

Potion Making
This afternoon the Kingfishers have been busy making their own potions.

There were all different ingredients that could be chosen. The children had great fun. They discussed what happened when they mixed certain colours together, how the pasta changed when it was added to water, which container held the most potion and how some 'special' (fruit) teabags changed the colour of the water and made it smell! The language and conversations had were amazing.

A huge thank you!
Thank you so much for the huge contribution of food and toiletries for our Harvest Festival today. I think we have been able to donate even more this year than last year, to City Mission. They will be collecting all the stock tomorrow morning, which will then be distributed to families across the city who need it. For such a small school, our contribution is one of the largest they receive and that is all thanks to the generosity of our school community. So thank you again!

Year 6 visit the Natural History Museum
Year 6 had a fantastic day out at the Natural History Museum in London as part of their Natural Disasters topic. They learnt all about volcanoes and earthquakes around the world and even experienced what an earthquake would feel like. They also enjoyed taking part in an earthquakes and volcanoes show where they helped to save a town from disaster!

Abracadabra!
In Kingfishers we have been so excited about our new topic 'Abracadabra!'

The children thought about what they would like to learn and do during this topic, and it wasn't long before their ideas were put into action!
