SUPER Swifts learn all about sight!

Last week, the super Swift class were lucky to be visited by the Southampton Sight Awareness group! These wonderful volunteers came in and spoke to the class about sight.  The class did a range of activities which enabled them to understand more about our super senses.  It was a fabulous experience and they thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Swifts learn about visual impairment!

This afternoon, the SUPER SWIFT class were visited by 'Southampton Sight’ a sight awareness organisation.  These lovely people taught us about people who are visually impaired.  We carried out three activities which helped us to understand more about eyesight.  The activities were: wearing different glasses and imagining what it felt like to have a visual impairment.  We had a go at reading braille too.  Outside we had a go at walking with a white cane.  Did you know that there are two different types of canes? Ask me about it! It felt very weird but fun! Finally, there was a feely bag which had objects in and we had to guess what the objects were without looking!  We learnt so much! The visitors were so impressed.  They gave us a wrist band as a token of appreciation so we can spread the word :)
