We would like to know what you think about a draft budget for 2020/21 and onwards to 2022/23.
This year we are taking a slightly different approach to the budget. We are continuing to find and deliver efficiencies but we want to grow our way out of the budget gap. By this we mean making bold investments in the areas which are important to the city, and by investing money in things which can generate income to the council and therefore support services. We feel this is the best way to create a city of opportunity where everyone thrives.
This is your opportunity to have your say. For example, we want to hear how it may affect you and if you have any suggestions for us. We will consider all the feedback received before any final decisions are made.
To read about the proposals and give us your views, please complete the following questionnaire.
Please complete this questionnaire by 7 January 2020.

Kingfishers hedgehog visit
Kingfishers were very excited to have a special visitor this afternoon from Hamble Hedgehogs. They brought in Arthur the Hedgehog. The children listened intently to the information given to them and are now Hedgehog experts! They were able to gently stroke the hedgehog on the back, which the children loved doing. They were extra caring towards Arthur, who went back to his home for a well deserved rest. We look forward to learning more about Hedgehogs in Autumn 2.

Please contact Testlands for further details as this is not a school event. Thanks!
Year 4 get team building!
Year 4 have been spending the past few weeks working on their team building! With such a packed curriculum we take every opportunity to come together as a year group to mix up and have fun. We have been using our team skills to work together and complete the challenges!
This week we had to use our communication and team work to get all of our team members across the hall using only two hoops! It definitely had it's challenges - however, we came together and worked hard to complete it.

Year 6 First Aid workshop
On Wednesday, Kestrels had a visit from Sue from the Red Cross. She led a workshop on the basics of first aid.
We looked at heavy bleeding, burns, choking and breathing difficulties and learned what to do in these situations.
Here are some photos of us getting each other into the correct position if faced with a fit or a seizure.
Swifts have their VOTE!
Today is a very important day at Bitterne Manor Primary School as the Learning Leader elections are taking place! Members of the Swift class have thought hard about the qualities needed to represent their class and school all week. As a result, a small group of them have courageously put themselves forward. Their speeches where amazing and each candidate thought carefully about why they wanted to represent their class. Each and every one of them should be very proud as they are all worthy candidates! Well done :)
