R;pple

One of our parents signposted this potentially life-saving digital tool, which is free for parents to download.  It was created to ensure more help and support is given to individuals searching for harmful content online.  If a user does search for this, they will first be guided through a filter of breathing exercises and then very simple, uncluttered and calmly presented strategies and forums, help lines and mental health services they can access both now and longer term: accompanied with messages of hope and encouragement to keep safe.

Commonwealth Games

On Thursday, 15 children from across Year 4, 5 and 6 took part in the Commonwealth Games Event held at Winchester Leisure Centre.  Just like the City Athletics in the previous week, we were chosen to represent the country of Cameroon and carry the flag around the running track.  The children were then able to take part in 4 activities across the day which consisted of boxing, swimming, cricket and a visit to the Commonwealth village.  It was a great day and a lot of new experiences for each child which will encourage them to carry on their sporting journeys.

Robins' Trip to Manor Farm!

Robins had amazing time at Manor Farm!

We got to experience a real Victorian lesson! The teacher was very strict!

We then got to go outside and play some different Victorians games! We loved the        bowling!

In the afternoon we spent time looking around a Victorian house and had a go at washing clothes like a Victorian!

We then got to meet some amainals on the farm! We even fed the goats!

Swifts love a pose!

The Swift class has been learning all about Monarchs this term and are thoroughly enjoying it. We had our Art day today where children explored portraits and poses of different Kings and Queens from the past. They were asked to sketch their very own portrait, thinking hard about a hobby that they could portray as well as taking on a pose. They were FANTASTIC! Then, they replicated their portrait digitally on Purple Mash. They did a wonderful job! These have been displayed on the display board on Purple Mash for all to see as well as in the Swift classroom!

Here are some examples...

Definitely artists in the making! 🎨
