Global perspectives

Children from Year R all the way up to Year 6 have been collaborating to create posters about the journey of a banana from the tree where it is grown, to our lunch boxes. We have been looking at the impact the different stages of the journey have on the world around us!

Year 6 shadow investigations

Year 6 have been learning about how light travels & how we see things. This week they were investigating reflective surfaces and how shadows are created. They made careful measurements in order to find out how the size of a shadow changes according to its distance from a light source.

Dirty Water

Year 4
We've had great fun in science! We have been mixing solids and separating them. We also used filter paper to separate solids from 'river' water.

Dragons invade Year 3!

Year 3 have been working hard designing then making dragons that move - using pneumatics. Some children used syringes and some balloons to make various wings, mouths or even shooting flames move!

We look forward to showing the school our dragons in the forthcoming Dragon Show on the morning of Friday 11th February. Year 3 parents are invited too.

Gymnastics Festival - Bitterne Manor winners

Tuesday 25th January saw schools come together to show off routines and skills they have been learning and practising. Bitterne Manor pulled out all the stops and were voted winners by Southampton squad coaches who judged on variation of skills and technique. Our children were presented with medals and certificates for their win. Well done. after the performance children had the opportunity to go on all the gymnastic equipment with the skilled coaches. Some of our children were chosen to attend trials for Southanpton Squad places. Hopefully they will be our stars of the future.
