Everest challenge

Today we have taken part in the Everest fund-raiser.  We had to go through the challenge as many times as possible in 30 minutes.  It was so much fun.

City Road Safety Event - 7th May

There is a Family Road safety event on 7^th May, 10am-3pm at the Guildhall Square, Southampton.  All children, young people and their families and carers are welcome to attend. This is a multi-agency partnership event where there will be a lot of experiential learning and opportunities to talk to experts on road safety.

ROCKET SEEDS - TAKE OFF!

Today we all began our "Rocket Science" project - growing seeds that have been into space.  200 seeds have been sown by the whole school (100 that have been in space and 100 that haven't) and we now wait to see what will happen.  Which seeds will germinate first?  Which seeds will grow more leaves?  Which seeds will be taller plants?  Watch this "space"!!

Serious scooter fun!

Stuart from my school journey has been providing the children in Nightingales and Rooks with scooter training.  The children have learnt how to scoot safely on the roads and are developing a respect for other road users.  Most importantly,  the children have had fun with their learning!

Manor Farm

What a beautiful day we had for our trip on Wednesday. Robins had a wonderful day getting to know victorian farming tools, having a victorian school lesson, getting dirty by doing some victorian chores and meeting all the farm animals. The staff at the farm commented on the good behaviour of all the children which was great!

The children are now starting to write a recount about the trip so keep and eye out for some lovely examples.

Tadpoles have arrived

Today year R had  little surprise, the fish tank that had appeared in thr classroom suddenly came to life.  We have froglets and tadpoles in different stages.  We have enjoyed looking at them today and have asked lots of questions.  We are eager to know more about them. 

Team Zebra: Green going on...

Team Zebra are back at work after the Easter break. The green design is starting to take shape... some very careful brushwork is required now and we're having to scale back and refine some of our original ideas. It's looking very good though!
